Eyelid Surgery

The ideal candidate for eyelid surgery has concerns about the appearance of either their upper or lower eyelids and wants to achieve a rejuvenated or refreshed look. Many patients come in for consultation because they would like improvements to the “bags” or discoloration under the eyes that make them look tired. Also, these patients may have concerns about the excess skin of the upper eyelids and the heaviness that it creates. Patients can even feel tired because the of the extra weight of the excess skin.

The eyes are the first thing you notice when you look at someone… and youthful appearance of the eyes can portray health and vibrancy. If the eyes look tired, others can assume that you feel that way as well. Eyelid surgery is designed to correct these issues and help patients looks as healthy as they feel.

There are many options for improving the appearance of the eyes without surgery. Botox and injectable fillers can be very beneficial in certain patients but there are limitations to what they can achieve. Surgery is usually not recommended for younger patients who can delay blepharoplasty through non-surgical procedures.

  • Improve the appearance of droopy eyelids
  • Relieve heavy eyelids or eyelids that feel tired
  • Reduce puffiness or swelling around the eyes; bags under the eyes
  • Allow the eyes to appear brighter and more refreshed
